Scoring
The object of the game is to score 21 points by throwing bean bags onto or through the hold of the cornhole board opposite from you.
- Landing the beanbag through the hole – 3 points (cornhole)
- Beanbag knocked into the hole by another bag – 3 points
- Landing the beanbag on the board – 1 point (woody)
- Beanbag half on the board – 1 point
- Beanbag half on the board and touching the floor – 0 points
- Landing the beanbag anywhere other than the board – 0 points
- Beanbags landing on the board after hitting the floor – 0 points and bag removed
- Beanbag resting on the board, then getting knocked off by another bag – 0 points
Gameplay
Teams of two people. Partners stand at opposite boxes on the same side and face each other. Each team has four bags of one color. All eight bags begin at one end. A player may throw from anywhere behind the front of the box. Players will alternate throws. If the bag hits the group and bounces or slides onto the board, it must be removed from play. The team who wins the round throws first on subsequent rounds. Each player has 20 seconds per throw. Points to win vary depending on tournament format.
